Gippsland United would like that thank everyone who registered and completed the EOI for the United Academy.

We have had an overwhelming number of responses, and it was not expected so we have been working hard to be able to deliver a program that will suit.

As a result of the huge interest in the program we are collaborating with local associations to run not 1, but 2 different academy sessions. The Academy program will be split into 2 groups, East and Central. “East” academy will be hosted at Maffra Basketball Stadium (with the support of the Maffra Basketball Association) and “Central” academy will be hosted at Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium.

There was a huge number of athletes interested in the program ranging from U10-U18 aged athletes. We have had to consolidate the academy program to specifically target players born 2010 – 2012. However, we will be looking at ways in the future to be able to deliver a program for all athletes but believe this is a great starting point so we can deliver the best program possible.

The program has been developed by Coaching Director Wayne Royal and will focus on fundamental and decision making skills.

The first session will be a combined East/Central session on Saturday 23rd July at GRISS.
