Position

Committee of Management Chairperson

 

Reports

The Committee of Management Chairperson is the sole board chairperson for Gippsland United and will report to the TABA executive and work closely in consultation with all member associations.

 

Overview

The Committee of Management Chairperson will lead the Committee of Management of Gippsland United and understand the aim of the organisation and facilitate/manage the Committee of Management to that aim.

 

Responsibilities

  • Chair and moderate CoM meetings to ensure that they are constructive, efficient and respectful;
  • Promoting the development of a positive group culture;
  • Motivating other members to actively participate in and attend meetings.
  • Ensuring the actions taken are in line with the aim/objectives of GU.
  • Providing insight as needed and ensuring other members are able to have input.
  • Harness the diversity of experience and perspectives to form better, more robust decisions.
  • Demonstrate integrity and ethical leadership by encouraging a climate of trust and openness.
  • Ensure all decisions are made with the aim of achieving the GU Strategic Plan.
  • Ensuring By-Laws are adhered to within the decision-making process.

 

Key Selection Criteria

  • Strong Leadership experience.
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while working autonomously.
  • High-level attention to detail.
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience within the sporting landscape (within Gippsland is highly desirable)
