Round 7 was Mother’s Day Round and Gippsland United mum’s went home happy on Saturday Night. Game Night Sponsor was Maryvale Private Hospital who had a number of guests enjoy the sponsors lounge.
The Women kicked off the action against Surf Coast Chargers. In what as a scrappy game the Women lead at every change to end up 27 point victors. Co-captain Chloe Hogg again led the team across all the stat lines finishing with 13 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 steals and 3 blocks.
Mildura Heat made the LONG trip down, 8 hours on the bus is a huge day and it looked like the trip had sapped them of energy, especially early in the game. The Men jumped out to a 23-11 lead at the end of the first quarter.
It was one way traffic from that point onwards, with every player hitting the scoresheet. Billy Hughes and Brandon Armstrong lead the way however it was young gun Ben Waller who brought the crowd to their feet with a thunderous dunk in transition.
